I spent twelve years in restaurants and eight years as a self-employed truck driver. Different industries, same trap: the business only runs when you're running it.

After COVID, trucking dried up. The rates kept dropping and the cost of living kept going up. I used to put in twelve-hour days. Now I was home before lunch. Used that time to teach myself how to code. Eventually enrolled in a coding bootcamp and graduated. That's when ChatGPT came out. I pivoted. Leaned into AI and never looked back.

The industry never recovered. Then the port strikes hit. The same ports I worked out of every day, where dock workers were fighting to keep automation out. I watched it happen from the inside. I saw where everything was heading. I didn't want to be on the wrong side of it.

I quit in March 2025. Not on impulse. The industry was already dying. I just stopped waiting.

Starting in 2025, I put together an entire operation from scratch: receptionist, operations, marketing team, research team. All AI. A digital clone of myself to run it. I did it without ever hiring a single person.
